A Hard Working Deck Sealing Indiana Company

Posted by pressurewashexperts on October 28, 2009

I saw my Indiana neighbor get his deck sealed last week. I know how hard he is to work for, he is a retired army recruiter so he can be quite force full at times. I was impressed that the deck sealing Indiana company was able to deal with him. He watches over my shoulder sometimes when I’m doing yard work and he tells me I’m doing it wrong and try to correct me.

I know that he did that to this deck sealing company but they seemed to handle it well. It also helped that they did great work and they deck looked brand new when they were done. They even got him put on a maintenance plan where they will come out every two years and put a maintenance coat of sealer on the deck.

The deck before they did anything to it looked horrible. It was a true eyesore because it had been neglected for years. It was all grey and nasty looking and Frank didn’t use it much, but I don’t blame him. This town is a great community and a lot of good people live here. We have a lot of friends that we like to invite over and so does Frank, so I know that not being able or at least being too embarrassed to use his deck was upsetting him.

I was glad to see that deck sealing Indiana company do such a good job because I was afraid Frank’s abrasive attitude would run them off. I am going to hire them myself in a few weeks since they do such good work, and I’m not half as bad as Frank.

Ipe and Hardwood Deck Cleaning

Posted by pressurewashexperts on November 29, 2007

If you are lucky enough to own an ipe deck or any of the hardwood species of decks then you may already be aware that these woods require maintenance like any other wooden deck. Hardwood deck cleaning is not that much more difficult than cleaning any other type of deck with a few caveats.

1) Though the term hardwood is used often and certainly applies, this does not mean the wood is impervious to damage. Always use low pressure and even washing strokes.
2) Hardwood decks can have mold spores carried with them from their place of origin. Mold strains from a rain forest in Brazil are very hearty and must be removed prior to finishing.

Choose a deck cleaning product that contains sodium percarbonate. This cleaning compound will bubble up dirt and mold from below the surface. Deck cleaning on hardwoods like ipe should be performed whether the wood has been outside for awhile or if it is new construction. Apply the deck cleaner via a pump up sprayer. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Use a deck brush or pressure washer to agitate the mixture and then rinse methodically. Do not use high pressure. Keep your pressure washing wand far from the surface and walk the entire length of each board without stopping. This will prevent any lap marks and give you a clean surface to stain and seal.
